Accommodation and meals.
We have especially chosen typical accommodation that fit the character of the walk, small quiet Spanish family run Pensions, Casa Rurals and Hotels, whichever we feel has the best quality of service from the choice available.

You will be assured of a friendly welcome at the end of a day's walking and perhaps a dip in the pool, roof top dinner, or aperitifs on your balcony depending on the location. Accommodation is full board (breakfast, packed lunch and supper) so your extra costs are minimal. You can choose to spend two or more nights in any location, just let us know when you book.

Night 1: Callosa de En Sarriā. This graded high quality Casa Rural is centrally located in the town square and formerly served as the chemists shop for the village. It includes a library and a rooftop terrace for breakfast and supper.

Night 2: Benimantell. A pension located 1 km from the village. It has a swimming pool and enjoys outstanding views of the Guadalest Valley, Sierra Serrella and the Mediterranean Sea in the distance.

Night 3: Benifato. A simple but agreeable pension in the centre of this tiny Moorish village.  Here you get a real flavour of Spain in the middle ages and another rooftop terrace to enjoy a well deserved drink with views of the surrounding mountains as the sun goes down.

Night 4: Confrides. This last pension has been catering to visitors to the area for more than thirty years and features a plant that hangs from the ceiling and now occupies most of the bar. The views of the Guadalest Valley are simply stunning.

Night 5: Castells de Castells. As in Callosa this is Casa Rural which has been graded as high quality by the Valencian Tourist Board. The owners have restored it as a traditional village house, almost all the rooms have terraces with views of the mountains. We recommend it very highly.

Night 6: Tārbena. Here you stay at our Casa Rural, As Tunel  the base for our centred holidays in the area so you can also include a day with a guide if you wish.

Night 7: Callosa de En Sarriā. Back to Callosa and the Casa Rural from where you started. You will have the opportunity to do some shopping before your return to the UK.

The Walking.
You will walk along a variety of forestry tracks, footpaths, some are rough and stony, and quiet "B" roads. The paths are not difficult to follow. There are some steep climbs but no scrambling is involved. Details of the distances and ascents can be found in the Outline Itinerary

Level of Difficulty.
Moderate to Moderately Difficult. Daily ascents of between 1400 and 2000 feet. Vehicle support is available if required.

Waymarking.
Our walking notes are designed to make sure you get to your destination and many of the routes are partially or entirely way-marked. A compass is always a useful in case of poor visibility.

Before you go.
Three or four weeks prior to your departure we will send you our booklet with full details of the walks: maps, route descriptions, what to bring, emergency contact details, key phrases and everything else you need to need to know.

About this holiday.

This holiday is the result of a collaboration between all of the accommodations listed above. We are a non-profit making organization, Senders Marina Baixa, working to bring sustainable tourism to the area and counter rural depopulation.

UK Tour operators wishing to included this trek in their brochure should, in the first instance, get in touch with Insightwalks who provide English language services for Senders Marina Baixa.
